“This advanced Gear Shaper will allow us to cut gears up to 20 inches in diameter so we can expand our customer base with companies in the clean and wind energy industries,” Tom Cruse, Director of Operations at Gear Technology explained. “We will now be able to fabricate larger gears, and full gearbox designs and assemblies.”

Gear Technology Announces Management Changes with Two Promotions

Rancho Cucamonga (CA) (June 16, 2010)... Gear Technology, a leading international precision gear manufacturer and related services provider, has recently announced the promotion of two senior level managers.

Joe Campa, formerly Quality Assurance Manager, has been promoted to Director of Engineering. A ten-year veteran of Gear Technology, he was previously employed with Boeing Space and Communications Group as a Procurement Quality Specialist, and has held quality management positions with Kosmo Gears and Newman Machine Works. In his new position, Campa will be responsible for the company’s integrated Engineering Department.

Jerry Flores has been elevated from Quality Assurance Representative to Quality Manager. His new management responsibilities will include the implementation and maintenance of the company’s ISO9001:2008/AS9100 AMS quality standards, inspection, employee training, safety, internal and external audits, performance monitoring and lean manufacturing.

Gear Technology Signs Five-Year Contract Agreement with Triumph Aerospace Systems

Terms and conditions of the agreement provide a mutually beneficial business relationship between our two companies, according to Tom Marino, President of Gear Technology. “We are pleased to be working with Triumph Gear Systems,” Marino said. “Gear Technology will be contract manufacturing precision quality machine gear products, including shafts, splined rings, splined spacers and clutch plates for the military V-22 Osprey Tilt-Rotor Aircraft.”

Gear Technology Acquires New State-of-the-Art Gear Chamfering Machine

Rancho Cucamonga (CA) (April 14, 2009)... Gear Technology, a leading international precision gear manufacturer, recently acquired a new, state-of-the-art gear chamfering machine to improve product quality and reduce the time-consuming task of chamfering gears.

“At Gear Technology we are always looking a better ways to serve our customers. With automated chamfering, we produce machined parts more cost-effectively, save a significant amount of time in the manufacturing process, which translates to faster product turnaround for our customers,” Tom Marino, President of Gear Technology, said.

“This new high technology chamfering machine adds a higher level of operation efficiency and product quality from our company to our customers,” Marino confirmed.

The custom-designed Senjo-Seiki PLC 101SAll chamfering machine has a unique stylus system that traces the inner and outer periphery of precision-machined components, producing a uniform and symmetrical chamfer with a superior finishe, according to Marino. The machine accommodates work pieces up to 7.87” in diameter by 3.94” in length and in a variety of metals from aluminum to hardened aircraft steel alloys.
